Imperial Base Attack Screen Animation

I originally used a screen saver animation for the display screen on the prop. This was a compartment for my phone with a magnetic hatch.

I then did an After Effects course and used my end of course project for a new animation I did myself.

The plot was a hacking scene where the rebels who have infiltrated a planet housing a secret imperial base are over looking the base. They then use a commanders authentication code to hack in and turn the base’s own defensive turbo laser turret towers against the base, its tie fighter hanger and visiting transport cruiser. The animation is what the rebels would be seeing on the display screen.

  Below is the storyboard for the scene created with Adobe Firefly showing how the animation would fit with the live action.
   
  We would first see the rebels, possibly led by Cassion Andor get past the orbiting patrols in a stolen or stealth ship a distance away from the base then walk overland to a cliff edge overlooking the base.

• Here they would take out the hacking tool (The Star Wars Prop)
• 
  
• Activate and power it up.
   
  On the screens we would see then responding to requests to code in as a senior commander.
• 
  
• Once logged in they could access the base menu which would include Surveillance, Personal, Hanger and Space Port, Inventory Stocks, Communications and Defence Systems
• 
  
• The communications would be blocked with the rebels transmitting a message that the defence systems appeared to be malfunctioning.
• 
  
• The defence systems would then be accesses and activated which then would be spotted by the Command Centre Control Crew.
   
  The crew would begin to panic as they desperately try and shut the system down that they are now locked out of as the rebels activate the turbo laser turrets turning them inwards to target the base.
   
  First to fire on would be the Spaceport where an Imperial armed transporter would be trying to take off along with tie fighters to defend the base.

• These would be shot down as they launch.
• 
  
• Follwed by the destruction of the spaceport and Tie Fighter hangers.
   
  The control deck of the tower and outlying buildings, labs and factories would be destroyed and connection tunnels.
   
  The turbo lasers would then be set to destroy the rest of the command centre tower along with each other.
   
  The rebels can then leave a devastated base leaving the imperials to think at first this was a tech malfunction.
